| Art is one of my loves, right next to music and
ice cream :) There are three main genres that I concern myself with:
illustration, anime/manga (Japanese animation/comics), and anthro (furries).
According to my mother, I've been drawing since I could properly hold a pencil...which was some time ago. I've never taken any lessons...I'm self-taught. Basically, I'd pick up a comic book or artbook and try to learn techniques from what I read. I'm still that way, except now I find tutorials on the things I'm not sure of, and I've found some wonderful tutorials. There are a number of artists whose art I admire and will draw inspiration from. Among them are H.R. Giger, Luis Royo, Gerald Brom, Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Hajime Sorayama, Olivia, and Amy Brown, just to name a few. I won't post any of their artwork here, but click on their names to visit their respective websites, and explore for yourself. Now...in the genre of anime/manga...there are way too many names to mention. I've been a fan of anime since I was 7, watching Battle of the Planets (Kagaku Ninjatai Gatchaman!) after school. And just like the numerous artists, there are far too many anime titles that I consider my favorites. That would be right up there with listing all the titles in my collection...too much clutter on the page. Instead, if you're interested in learning about the different anime/manga titles and genres, there's only one place to go: Then there's anthro or anthropomorphic...or "furries" as some like to call them. Animals taking on human characteristics...or humans taking on animal characteristics...it's hard to tell sometimes. Regardless, I love it :) Some die-hard fans actually dress up in furry suits...umm...yeah. I like cosplay as much as the next person, but sometimes they take it a bit far, as adult situations are common with anthro art..and well...they take it into the real world. It's actually been featured on an episode of CSI, so it's gotten some media acclaim :) But seriously, the genre of anthro art is very creative and interesting, to say the least. There are a lot of artists that I follow, and as mentioned above, I'm not gonna clutter up the site with links and banners. So, that being said, the best place to learn about the many artists and see their work, there's only one place to go: And finally...there are also the webcomics. At some point, I will get off my rump and do a comic. There's a couple of ideas rumbling around my brain, so we'll see which one comes out first. :) In the meantime, check these comics out..I guarantee you'll love 'em :)
